Better to just visit and stay somewhere else if you prefer an upscale place. Good location, nice grounds, habitat buffet and good room housekeeping. This hotel gets many rough looking locals on the weekend in the smokey casino, who seem to enjoy getting stupid drunk and ruininng it for others. Stayed at other Harrah owned properties that were much better in Vegas. Toilet bowl low to floor and shower small with tub.Hallway carpert needed cleaning and elevator doors nasty. Room was to have hardwood flooring (figured it would be laminate) but it was vinyl and smelled like it! Bath room tile already showing mold and uneven, shower faucet would not stop leaking and screens on window (with this upgraded strip view) had tape on them, ruining view. This is like staying at an econo lodge versus a comfort suites. Stayed here because rooms recently re done. I would give it a rating of 5 out of 10, simply because of the buffet, location and casino. It would be one of my last choices, though, and I probably would NOT recommend it. Overall, I would likely stay again if the price was right. The buffet was the second best I've ever had, so many options, for a reasonable price. The casino is nice, not a lot of variety for table games, though. Not great for anyone with a hangover (I would assume). It couldn't get any better than that! A lot of the hotel is under construction, which makes it loud. The location was amazing, right smack dab in the middle of the strip. We gave up on having a good shower for a good night's sleep. It took approximately 25 minutes for the water to get lukewarm. The bed and sleep was fantastic that night, but the shower was worse than the first. Same view (though we could see the entirety of Las Vegas now from the 22nd floor). Needless to say we complained, and got our rooms changed. At 7am I was awoken to the sound of drilling just down the hall. Our friends 5 rooms away had a nicer showerhead than us. Not great, but we could see the flamingos, which was cool! Our first night was terrible. The room was really nice, the view was towards the back of the hotel. Getting to our room on the 6th floor, we noticed the end of the hall blocked off. We were with another couple, and got rooms on the same floor. We jumped all over that, so instead of the not-so-great sounding basic room, we upgraded to a newer Go room. They offered us an upgraded room for only $15/night. We arrived at the hotel about 2.5 hours before check-in. A manager saw us struggling with a door and ran to hold it open - it's those kind of little details that make you feel good about staying somewhere. All the staff we encountered seemed to really want to help us and make our stay a better one. The whole elevator was talking about what was that stuff on the doors. :-/ The elevators were the only area I felt needed attention to. Yeah, guess I should have checked that first. Our tv didn't work so we had to call maintenance - he came right up and showed us a cable was just unplugged. It was a "updated" room and although the room was updated (cute decor and some kind of wood flooring), the bathroom was not. Such a simple solution and it will save you so much time! The room was clean and spacious. We got checked in immediately, got our room upgraded AND got the early check in for free. However, you can go to your own line if you have that reward card (which is free and only takes a minute to sign up for). When we went to check in - there indeed was a very long line (there always was every time we walked by the lobby). I had signed up for a reward card when I made my reservation and luckily printed out the card info. We were a little worried after reading reviews on here that the check in process and cleanliness might be an issue.
